How to Become a CNA in Florida
Starting your career as a certified nursing assistant in Florida only requires three simple steps. The first step is to locate an educational institution, hospital or care facility that offers a state approved cna training program. After enrolling in the education program and completing the required number of course hours according to Florida state guidelines, the individual will then register to take the cna certification exam. The exam includes a combination of written multiple choice questions and a hands-on practical skills section. Upon successful completion of both parts of the exam the individual may apply to have their cna license mailed to them so that they can begin working as a nursing assistant. Many nurse aides choose to continue their education at a later date to become either a practical nurse (LPN) or a registered nurse (RN). For those who enjoy the career of nursing and want to increase their earnings potential and take on a greater variety of functions in their job duties these two can be excellent options. Training to become a cna can be completed in as little as a few weeks. Many hospitals, long-term care centers and assisted living facilities in Florida offer career training programs for individuals who are willing to work at that particular facility upon receiving their cna certification. These types of programs are usually paid for by the institution and offered to interested students free of cost in exchange for a specified tenure of employment. |
